Another big one headed to the test bench.

The Larger Hydraulic Services team has this Komatsu dump cylinder assembled and is getting it ready for final testing.

Our 20-foot hydraulic cylinder bench makes light work of these large cylinders, allowing us to verify performance, check for leaks, and ensure everything is operating exactly as it should before it heads back into service.

When the machine starts to creak, ping, and tink while sitting idle… there’s a good chance the cylinders are drifting.

Cylinder drift is one of those problems that can show up slowly, but it usually points to something that needs attention.

A simple field check:

✅ Mark the chrome rod with a paint pen
✅ Set a timer
✅ Measure how many inches the cylinder moves per minute

What’s considered “acceptable” drift depends on the cylinder seals, how the load is being held, and whether the cylinder is extending or retracting.

If your equipment is creeping, drifting, or not holding position like it should, Larger Hydraulic Services can help inspect, troubleshoot, and repair the issue before it turns into bigger downtime.

You asked — we listened. And no… this isn’t a joke. 👀

Starting May 2nd, Larger Hydraulic Services will be open Saturdays to better support our customers when you actually need us.

Tentative Saturday Hours:
🕗 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM

We know breakdowns and projects don’t always wait for Monday — this is one more step toward being there when it matters. ⚙️

We’ll be running Summer Saturday hours through the end of August, with the potential to extend into the fall as demand continues (especially through harvest season). 🌽🚜

If you’ve got hoses to build, parts to grab, or problems to solve — we’ll be here. 🤝
