The Boat Shop is Reggie’s passion project. Simple, honest boat service for people who love the water. Reggie is a long-time boat guy through and through.

A lifelong boat guy who loves Mercury motors, he now services boats in his free time, helping fellow boat owners keep things running right. The Boat Shop was built from a lifetime on the water and decades of hands-on experience. What started as a full-time business has evolved into something simpler and more personal. Boats, motors, and especially Mercury engines have always been his jam. Today, he’s choosing to slow things down and focus on what he loves most—helping fellow boat owners keep their boats running right. This is no big shop, no flash, and no pressure. Just honest boat service done in Reggie’s free time for people who care about their boats as much as he does. 🍂🚤 OCTOBER IS ALMOST HERE… IS YOUR BOAT READY FOR WINTER? 🚤🍂

We hate to say it, boat friends… but cooler nights are here, and freezing temperatures won’t be far behind. 🥶

If your boat is still out, now is the time to start thinking about winter prep — not the night before the first hard freeze!

A few things to keep on your checklist:

⚓ Protect the fuel system — fresh fuel, proper stabilizer, and the right winterizing steps can help prevent headaches next spring.

⚓ Check the lower unit/gearcase oil — water contamination can cause serious damage if it freezes.

⚓ Take care of the battery — clean the terminals, charge it properly, and store/maintain it according to the battery manufacturer’s recommendations.

⚓ Drain and protect water systems — anything holding water can become a problem once temperatures drop.

⚓ Give everything a good inspection — hoses, belts, wiring, prop, trailer tires, lights… fall is a great time to catch little issues before they become spring surprises.

And of course, every boat and motor can be a little different — so make sure you’re following the proper winterizing procedure for YOUR setup.

🍂🥶 COOLER WEATHER IS COMING… IS YOUR BOAT READY? 🚤⚓️

We know nobody wants to talk about putting the boat away yet 😭😂… but those chilly Midwest nights are starting to creep in, and freezing temperatures eventually follow.

Please don’t wait until the first freeze is in the forecast to think about winterizing!

Reggie is working full time now, and The Boat Shop is his part-time/weekend gig. That means his availability is limited, so planning ahead is more important than ever.

If you need winterizing, maintenance, or have something you’d like him to look at before putting the boat away:

🍂⚓️ HELLO SEPTEMBER, BOAT FRIENDS! ⚓️🍂

How did we get here already?! One minute we were counting down to lake days and now we’re talking about cooler nights and the end of boating season. 😅

With September here, we wanted to give everyone a little Boat Shop update too.

Reggie is now working full time, so The Boat Shop has officially become his part-time, spare-time gig. Boats are still his thing and he still enjoys helping his longtime customers — but his availability is more limited than it used to be.

That means one thing:

👉 PLEASE PLAN AHEAD.

If you know you need repairs, maintenance, or winterizing, don’t wait until the night before you need your boat or the first freezing forecast. 😂

🍂🚤 FALL IS about HERE… AND IT’S TIME TO START THINKING ABOUT WINTERIZING 🚤🍂

It’s hard to believe how fast boating season flies by, but cooler days are rolling in and now is the time to start thinking ahead.

If you wait until the last minute, schedules fill up fast — and nobody wants to be scrambling when the temperatures really start to drop.

A few things to keep in mind before winter hits:

✅ Don’t put off winterizing
✅ Make sure your motor and systems are protected before freezing weather arrives
✅ Take care of the little things now so you’re not dealing with big problems later

There’s just something special about seeing the community come together for the food, fun, entertainment, and memories that make our little corner of the Midwest feel like home.
