Did you know Space Shuttle orbiters landed at speeds of over 200 mph using just 6 specialized tires? 🚀🌌

The main landing gear tires measured at 46.25 x 16.8-21.5, weighed around 205 pounds each, and were inflated to 340 PSI with nitrogen. Built to withstand the vacuum of space, extreme temperature swings, and the immense forces of landing, each tubeless tire took about 6 hours to manufacture and cost more than $6,000.

Despite being designed for multiple uses, most shuttle tires were replaced after every landing due to the extreme stress they endured.

This is what it looks like when you don’t get your tires checked for the summer! 🛞

One of those “I have plenty of tread to get me to winter” situations. 2019 tire blowout on the freeway. Luckily this person was able to drive to safety so we could swap out the tire on site.

We know it’s tempting to look at a tire and think that there’s plenty of tread on there, but tread depth is a very small fraction of what can be wrong with an older tire.

Meet the Owner 🛞

Will Hall is the owner and founder of Best Buy Tires. He’s always had a vision of creating a shop where people can feel comfortable and trust the work being done. A space where even something as routine as getting your tires done feels a little more exciting and a lot more reliable. He brought that vision to life in 2015 when he first opened Best Buy Tires.

Along with that vision, Will has always had a genuine passion for the automotive industry and mechanics —something that goes back to when he was a kid, working on his own vehicles and putting together his own projects. What started as a personal interest turned into something he wanted to share with others.

Will built Best Buy Tires from the ground up for the community and to be someone people can count on.

When he’s not at the shop, you can usually find him building something new or spending time outdoors. He loves fishing, camping, being out on the water, or up at Sand Mountain with his friends and family.

Will is a proud husband to his wife Amie and Dad to his two kids Camron and Emma. Their home is full of animals from dogs to chickens to cats, and if he’s ever scrolling on Facebook, there’s a good chance he’s looking at another rescue he wishes he could bring home 🐾
