⚪️ Fun Fact Friday! ⚪️
Did you know tires are naturally white? That’s right! Natural rubber comes from the milky white sap (latex) of rubber trees.
So... what made them black? The game-changer came in 1912 with the introduction of carbon black, a material added to rubber that completely transformed tire performance. It makes tires stronger, improves traction, resists wear, helps dissipate heat, protects against UV rays and ozone, and even helps prevent static electricity from building up. Without carbon black, a tire might last only around 5,000 miles! 🤯
⭐️BONUS FACT⭐️ Ever wonder why the Michelin Man is white? It’s because he was created in 1898, when tires were still white, and he’s designed to look like a stack of tires! 🛞
So the next time you look at your tires, remember they’re black for a reason! It’s not just about appearance. It’s one of the biggest reasons modern tires are so safe, durable, and built to last. 🚗💨
