Cylinder Wear - can you actually SEE it? You sure can, and our Rottler CNC hone shows it perfectly on this 90s Chevy 350. After the first few thousandths have been machined, the ring wear pattern is obvious, and you can see it disappear in the time lapse. This one is getting a new lease on life in a '57 Chevy Bel Air that will be cruising the highways soon!

Sometimes you need the BIG impact. This is the last step we take before moving to our hydraulic wrench, affectionately known as the 'Nut-Buster'. The nut in this one had been doused with thread locker when it was assembled previously, meaning it was time for the 1" impact to break it loose.

An engine block goes through a lot in its lifetime. Between the torque of the head bolts and the continual cycles from ambient temp to hundreds of degrees and back again, the head gasket surfaces become distorted over time. All of this is even more true when the block is aluminum.

When you're doing a rebuild, machining these surfaces back true in our high speed mill helps to ensure proper gasket seal and long-lasting reliability.

🏍️ What's a Ural?! What began in the 1940s as a military utility sidecar motorcycle has continued into modern times in largely the same form with a dedicated following around the world. These jugs are from a 1990's 750 model, and we honed them to oversize to get it back up and running like new.

We can fix 𝙖𝙑𝙒𝙀𝙨𝙩 anything - key word being almost. This excavator thumb cylinder came in partially retracted, hiding the true extent of the bend until after it was extended. After a lot of work to get it apart, we found that the gland, piston, and barrel were all heavily damaged, making this one a better candidate for replacement rather than re-machining new parts.

Sometimes you don't know til you dig in and investigate, and in this case it was worth a few hours of labor for the customer to see what they had before moving on to finding a new cylinder.

This one is destined for a classic wagon, and got the full treatment to have it performing its best - full cleaning, deck machining, and bore and hone to final size at .040" over.
