Dear Mallard Bend Campers:
Together, we are facing a truly unprecedented situation. The global coronavirus pandemic is affecting all our families, our businesses, our communities, and our way of life. During this time, we wanted to reach out and update you on how the current pandemic will affect things at Mallard Bend this camping season.
First and foremost, our hearts go out to anyone who's been impacted by the virus, either directly or indirectly. Our thoughts are especially with those who are sick, to whom we extend our heartfelt wishes for a full recovery. And we are truly inspired by the selfless healthcare workers around the world who are on the front lines working tirelessly to care for people in need.
As all Illinois state residents are aware Governor Pritzker issued an executive state at home order until April 30, 2020. We’re aware that Mallard Bend acts as a home, away from home for many and as such we are planning on opening on April 15th as previously planned. This will give you a secondary option for sheltering-in-place at Mallard Bend. While you are at the Mallard Bend, all campers will have to follow the CDC guidelines of social distancing and Illinois’ Executive Order regarding gathering in groups.
Accordingly, all common spaces such as the playgrounds, pavilion and general store will be closed until the Governor’s Executive Order is lifted. All other grounds will be open for campers to enjoy under Illinois’s social distancing guidelines (https://coronavirus.illinois.gov/s/)
We’re actively monitoring the evolving situation and if you’re looking for trusted, up-to-date information, we recommend visiting the specific coronavirus websites of CDC (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-nCoV/index.html) or the WHO (https://www.who.int/emergencies/diseases/novel-coronavirus-2019).
As we go forward, we will be sure to keep you updated, and know that we always value your questions or feedback.
