These two components will greatly impact the longevity of your M8 powered Harley. Compensators, no matter the brand, are a wear item and require periodic maintenance.
Difference between the factory compensator and the Man-O-War Motor Sprocket?
Factory compensator ramps are known for shattering, sending metal all throughout the primary and damaging much more in the process. Upgraded ramps are available, but the springs still need to be replaced every 20K-40K miles. This Motor Sprocket does not rely on springs and instead uses polyurethane bushings. Bushings that are not going to tear up the other primary components, bushings that are cheaper and quicker to replace than springs, and will handle MUCH more power than factory.
Why go with Baker Drivetrain Armored Attitude Adjuster?
This primary chain adjuster eliminates the automatic adjuster that comes from the factory, so you know the chain isn't going to tighten on its own and cause damage. Overtightened primary chains lead to inner primary bearing failure, transmission mainshaft bearing failure, engine left side main bearing failure, increased wear on the chain and compensator, and can make finding neutral difficult. Add more power than factory and you've got a recipe for disaster.
Stock or modified, these two American made quality parts are an excellent upgrade to protect your investment.
