All of us at the Historic Cleveland County Fairgrounds Speedway would like to thank everyone who came out to the races on Friday nights to see the great racing that has been missing for many years at the Fairgrounds. The Cleveland County Fairgrounds has played host to some of the biggest names in racing history over the years. We want to thank all the RacerReunion Family of Legends that took the time to come out and share their stories with the fans and sign autographs. Special thanks to the Fair Staff for allowing us to be a part of their hard working team. To all the sponsors. The Good Old Days Series Staff, the Fire Crews for always going the extra mile to keep us all safe.

Most of all we would like to thank all of the loyal fans who came out every week rain or shine. There will be no more racing in 2012 as the track is closed for the rest of the year. God Bless all of you and enjoy the Fair.

Important message: Just want to let everyone know that the only reason the 7 car was allowed to race Friday was because our tech official was not at the track Friday. We hired a new Official who is not trained yet. He allowed the 7 car to race not knowing all the restrictions we have described in the rules. He did the best he knew and has since been met with and informed what the body rules are. We are very sorry for upsetting everyone.

That race car and all Good Old Days Series cars will be checked going forward before they are allowed to compete. All cars must have a Stock all steel body from 1937 to 1989 as described in the rules. That means a Stock Top, Hood, Trunk lid, Fenders, and rear quarter panels. It states the door skins can be made out of aluminum but must be an exact match to original factory skins. That means all reproduction metal used on your race car. If it doesn't look original it won't pass inspection. The complete body rules are on the goodolddaysseries.com web site along with the tire rules. No tire will be allowed to stick out past the wheel well more then 5 inches.

Note: If you plan on racing in the good old days series your vehicle must comply to the rules described in the rule book going forward. Starting Friday July 13th. If you are unable to make your race car legal for the Good Old Days Series, you will not be allowed to race in that event. You are welcome to race with the Dirt Race Cars if your car does not pass the G.O.D.S. tech. No exceptions. The only reason we allowed cars to race without complying to the rules in the series up till now was to get the track going. It's time to make the G.O.D.S. the way it was created. The only rule we have in the DRC'S class is safety and 8 1/2 tires.
