It's been now 2 years of operating as the CEO and President of JGT and here are some updates:
1. We have 10Xed our growth since 2021, we grew 5X in 2023.
2. Our employee count has quadrupled.
3. We now have 4 Directors who manage the daily functions of the operations within their departments.
4. We do not rely on investors, investment rounds, seed funding, private equity, or any other buzzword you want to throw out to pay our bills, payroll, and budgets for innovation. Our sales department is jumpin'.
5. 97% of our clients have stayed with us for over 12 months and continue doing business with us in 2024.
6. We have delivered our nationwide electronic platform to automate many of the title processes that dealers, fleet companies, banks, and other commercial businesses deal with surrounding titles, liens, and registrations.
7. We can confidently say we hold the most efficient title, lien, and registration processes in the industry - hands down.
This started as a side hustle in my living room. I don't have everything figured out but have certainly gotten further than most. A message to any early venture founder or person who wants to build a company - don't listen to Grant Cardone or Gary Vee or any other youtube star. Don't listen to the successful Fortune 500 CEO who seems to have everything figured out. Don't get hung up on getting investment dollars and seed rounds.
My piece of advice: Be realistic with your expectations and what you are building. Are you starting a coffee shop? Don't try to be the next coffee tech company that sells their product through the blockchain. Stop with buzzwords. Find a problem that people truly deal with and try to solve a part of the problem.
Another thing, I know some private equity people now and they might frown at me for this, but quit worrying about these guys and gals. Is it nice to hear that people think your idea could be worth millions and billions of dollars? Sure. If you take nothing at all from this, please remember that these folks will not sell your product and service for you. Make your own sales and you will never be concerned with the next round of funding.
I obviously don't post my thoughts, especially put them out there for the public, but I am sure there is a founder out there that needs to hear this from a normal guy in the trenches.
Thanks to my entire JGT team for letting me live my dreams. You guys are my life.
