The pros at Wiehle Industries down in Tacoma, Washington finishing up the chevron and Resolve colors on the MV Salvation owned by the Resolve Marine Group! These guys really did an amazing job not only preparing the surface of this vessel, but also the application of the coatings, and they performed all this in under 4 weeks! This vessel, completed with all Carboline coatings has Rustbond PS, Carbothane 134 HG, C-flex 123, and our low temperature, moisture\surface tolerant Carboguard 635.
Of all those Carboline products, used to complete the Salvation barge, the leadership with Wiehle Industries were really impressed with the application performance of this product! Careboguard 635, is a cross-linked epoxy polymeric amine, that is an all-purpose immersion-grade epoxy that has a variety of attributes including low-temperature cure, surface tolerance, fast recoat times, moisture tolerance during application and cure, and
excellent corrosion protection. It has low VOC and low HAP's content for use in areas with restricted volatile emissions. Can be used direct to metal as a corrosion resistant primer or as an intermediate coating over other primers. Suitable for both maintenance and new construction projects due to its excellent surface wetting characteristics and quick cure for handling. May also be used for immersion in potable water, fresh or salt water (marine) exposures. Features of Carboguard 635 include;
• Low temperature cure (20°F)
• Excellent corrosion protection
• Excellent application characteristics
• Fast recoat times
• Moisture tolerance during application
• Continues to cure underwater
• Extended recoat window for atmospheric exposures (6 months for most topcoats)
• Low VOC and low HAPs content
• Certified by UL to meet the drinking water criteria of NSF/ANSI/CAN 600
• Meets IMO Performance Standard for Protective Coatings MSC.215(82): 2006 for sea water
ballast tanks

C-Flex 45, a multi-season antifouling that combines controlled polishing ablative technology with a high copper
content to provide a paint film strong enough to handle the tough marine environment from coast to
coast. It provides long term protection and fuel efficiency in harsh marine environments.
• High-copper ablative protection
• Smooth polishing finish
• Compatible over most bottom paints
• VOC compliant
• Meets current IMO standards as a TBT-Free and Cybutryne-Free Anti-Fouling System Justin Lewis Anthony Allegra

A lot going on in the Pacific Northwest, & Alaska the next several months for Carboline Coatings! The vessel pictured here, the MV Mitchell C, an offshore support vessel that runs in Alaska's Cook Inlet, owned by Ocean Marine Services out of Nikiski, Alaska, is now completed, and ready to rock & roll!
Surface preparation, and coating application performed by pro's at Lake Union Drydock, in Seattle, Washington! Great group of guys, and I'm seriously impressed, this paint crew really knows their stuff! We used the usual, C-Flex, Carboguard 635, Rustbond PS, but what I want to talk about is our Carbothane 134 HG!
Carbothane 134 HG is an aliphatic acrylic polyurethane, a thin film, high gloss finish with exceptional weathering performance characteristics. Used
extensively in virtually all industrial markets, 134 HG provides a smooth, durable finish that has superior resistance to corrosion, abrasion and chemical exposure, which offers the following features;
• High solids, low VOC content
• Excellent weatherability
• Exceeds SSPC Paint 36 specification for a Level 3 urethane
• Available in all Carboline colors including metallic-pigmented colors
• Excellent flow characteristics allow for application by spray or roller
• Superior impact and abrasion resistance
• Indefinite recoatability
• VOC compliant to current AIM regulations
• Meets the requirements of AWWA D 102 Outside Coating System (OCS) 5 & 6
• Suitable for use in USDA inspected facilities
• Meets the performance requirements of MIL-PRF-85285E Type II, Class H Polyurethane
• Meets the performance requirements of UFGS 09 97 13.27 Polyurethane Topcoat
