This has been a long time coming but with the closing of both Tirebrand and Outtatown Services I am having to ramp up much faster than intended. I realize I am compleatly unprepared to start this summer by myself. It is finally time I bring on some help. I am making a separate official want add but this is just explaining what is going on and what my plans are. I am currently planning to hire a full time mechanic and full time tire/l**e tech. I am also going to start work on my mobil repair rig so that I might be able to offer remote service in addition to my physical shop. I am going to have to slowly start cleaning my lot out of storage to make room for anticipated repairs. So I will for the first time be no longer offering a service I was offering. I am going to try and get a drive on lift for my back bay so that I can service the newer Ford Transit and Mercedes Sprinter vans. Winter Raven Mechanical is still growing and at this time I have no intentions to close shop. I do recognize that neither of the other two shops planned on closing so life does happen but just want to re-assure Seward that for the foreseeable future I am not planning on going anywhere.

Happy thanksgiving everyone. I just wanted to take a moment to thank every one of my customers for all of the support for my 1st “full” year in business. I knew that I had a hard road ahead when I started this business but I had no idea how hard. This was a very hard year with now that my name is out there I got really busy this spring and then with Tirebrand closing after Nathan’s passing, that level of busy went to a whole new level. Nathan you are sorely missed. I also lost two of my dogs this year. We had to put my 7 1/2 year old English Mastiff “Aslan” down because he was at end of life and had lots of increasing health issues. We then lost our other dog “Bowie” after he slipped out of the shop one night in early September and he got hit by a car. We did got a new shop dog “Rev” that is doing a good job of filling those empty shoes. I was then put into a position where I felt I had to take up doing tire changovers and that put my normal repairs on hold for a bit. I have some more things planned for for next year but 2026 is going to be exciting. Thank you Seward and spend as much time with the people you love this Thanksgiving. You never know when it may be the last.

So I am planning on putting a 2026 Calendar together featuring local Seward cars, trucks, and motorcycles. If you would like to submit a picture of your vehicle to be featured in the calendar then Email it to [email protected] and put 2026 calendar in the subject line. if I pick your vehicle then you will get a free calendar. Only a couple of rules. First it must be your vehicle not someone elses, the vehicle must be located in Seward not some cool car you took a picture of on vacation or a vehicle you used to own down south, and finally. All photos must be submitted by November 15, I will reach out to everyone that I picked and let them know they will be featured in the Calendar and hopfully all calendars will be available by the beggining of the year.

I have some somber news for my customers. Many of you have met our shop dog Bowie. I jokingly called him my customer service rep and he played that role great. This morning he got hit by a car and has passed from his injuries. I will be in the shop today but I am going to be moving a bit slow. He was a good dog and will be very much missed.

It was never my intension to directly compete with Tirebrand for doing tire and though I did intend to get a tire machine I never wanted to get involved in the tire change over shuffle every spring and fall. However with the closing down of Tirebrand I relized that decpite my intensions I needed to get into tires for the good of my hometown and beloved Seward. WRM will be ready to take on seasonal tire changovers for the first time this fall and if anyone needs to pick up new winter tires, please don’t wait. This season is going to get hectic in a hurry and those that wait will be waiting for a while. Looking forward to helping with this season and for those of you that get this reference “May the odds ever be in your favor”
