🦋 WE WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU, DOLLY. 💜

There are some people whose impact reaches far beyond the songs they sang or the stages they stood on. Dolly Parton was one of those people.

Her music, kindness, generosity, and unmistakable love for her community touched generations around the world but here in East Tennessee and the Smoky Mountains, she will always feel like one of our own.

This weekend, Smoky Mountain Lakeside RV Resort & Marina and Otter’s Cove are going PINK & PURPLE as we celebrate the life, music, and incredible legacy of our queen herself. 💗💜🦋

Over at Otter’s Cove, we’re having A Weekend for Dolly this Saturday & Sunday:

💗 Our staff and crew will be decked out in pink, purple, fabulous sparkles, rhinestones and all things Dolly! We’d love for you to join in the celebration, add a little sparkle and help us celebrate our girl in true Dolly fashion!

🎶 Our live music will begin with a moment of silence in Dolly’s honor, followed by some of her most-loved songs throughout the performances.

🦋 Butterflies will be throughout the Cove as a little tribute to Dolly.

📚 We’ll have a donation box at the front of the restaurant for anyone who would like to make a contribution to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in her honor.

And you may just see a little extra pink, purple, sparkle and butterflies making their way around Lakeside this weekend, too. 💜

Dolly gave so much to these mountains and the people who call them home. This is simply our little way of saying thank you.

Thank you for the music.
Thank you for the memories.
Thank you for your kindness.
And thank you for never forgetting where you came from.

Rest in peace, Dolly. Your legacy will forever live on in these mountains. 🦋

☀️ MEET SUNNY!

If it’s happening around the marina, chances are Sunny has a hand in it! As our manager overseeing the Marina, Ship Store, Service Center & Campground, she’s one of the people keeping Lakeside moving day in and day out and if you’ve met her, you already know she’s one of the most vibrant souls around!

Sunny is one of those people who is never just doing one thing. Whether she’s filling up your boat with gas, pulling one into the marina, walking the campground pups, coordinating boat & kayak rentals, helping guests with their stay, running the Ship Store, checking in with the Service Center or jumping in wherever an extra set of hands is needed, you never quite know where you’ll find Sunny next, but you can bet she’s getting something done. 😂

She’s a familiar face to so many of our guests and customers, and the person our team knows they can count on when something needs to happen. From the busy summer weekends to everything that goes on behind the scenes, Sunny puts so much time, energy and heart into keeping this place going.

Sunny, thank you for everything you pour into Lakeside. Your hard work, dedication and willingness to jump in wherever you’re needed never go unnoticed. We’re incredibly lucky to have you helping hold all the moving pieces together and making Smoky Mountain Lakeside Marina & RV Resort what it is today.

Because after everything you do around here, it’s safe to say this marina wouldn’t be floating without you! 💙

💙 DOUGLAS LAKE, LET’S RALLY AROUND ONE OF OUR OWN 💙

Many of you know Buddy. He’s a longtime and loyal member of our Douglas Lake community, a retired, disabled veteran, and someone we’ve been fortunate to know and love for many years.

Buddy lives by himself here on the lake, and unfortunately, during the recent storms, his boat - his home - sank. In a matter of moments, he lost not only his boat, but his home and so many of his personal belongings.

Right now, we’re asking our incredible community to come together for Buddy. ❤️

A GoFundMe has been created to help him recover and rebuild. If you’re able to donate, even a small amount can make a difference. If you aren’t able to donate financially, simply sharing the fundraiser helps more than you know.

We are also accepting physical donations for Buddy at one central location:

To make things as easy as possible for Buddy right now, we kindly ask that donations and items be brought directly to the Dock Store. Our team will make sure everything gets to him and help coordinate what he needs. 💙

And while our community comes together to help with the things Buddy needs right now, our team is working hard behind the scenes to help create a new place for him to call home.

We can’t share all the details just yet, but please know our team is coming together to make sure Buddy is taken care of and has a safe place to begin his next chapter.

Buddy has been part of our lake community for a long time. Now it’s our turn to show up for him.

We want to take a moment to clear up some misinformation currently circulating on Facebook regarding our marina and the recent storm.

On Tuesday, the marina experienced a large storm, causing damage throughout the marina. Part of the damage that has been shown and discussed on Facebook involved our wave break and one of our houseboats.

TWRA was on site the following morning and gave us the green light to continue business as usual, as everything was contained and cleanup efforts were already underway.

We are incredibly grateful to have been able to continue operating as normal, with no danger to the lake, our guests, or our community.

Smoky Mountain Lakeside RV Resort & Marina remains open and is operating as normal.

We truly appreciate everyone who has reached out with genuine concern and everyone who has helped throughout the cleanup process. We simply ask that information regarding Smoky Mountain Lakeside RV Resort & Marina be taken directly from our official page or our team, as some of the information currently being shared on social media is inaccurate.
