The all shrimp species fishery in Marine Area 6 outside Discovery Bay will reopen on July 19–20 only. WDFW fishery managers determined there is enough quota to open Marine Area 6 outside Discovery Bay for two additional days.

The shrimp fishery for Marine Area 7 West, originally planned to be open from July 18–20, has now been canceled. Harvest and effort data from previous openings indicate the spot shrimp quota in Marine Area 7 West has been met. HALIBUT CATCH ESTIMATES show anglers found a little less success during the recently conducted halibut season compared to 2025, which means there is plenty of quota remaining to support a late-summer reopening from Aug. 16 through Sept. 30 in most marine areas.
