Looks like Samson got his arms tangled. He is remeasuring himself because his spacings have changed.

Please dont guess your axle spacings and other measurements. Even one inch off can result in an out of service, or equipment impounded; as per DOT. It is advisable to do a complete measure out of your rig in your downtime. Keep these measurements in your truck for reference, along with your empty weights and etc. You can find additional info on our page that shows the types of measurements needed if you permit across the majority of the states.

If your company does not provide these, you can find them at most truck stops. As a cheaper alternative they may be ordered online, but take extra time for shipping.

If you turn off onto a county or city road; you need their permission and possibly a local permit before doing so. The only exception is if your state permit explicitly claims coverage. Most states, especially Ohio, are cracking down on checking for local permits; even when your destination is within a quarter mile of your turnoff. Once you have your state permit, you need to check for local roads and contact the appropriate entities for the all clear. Keep in mind that some of these localities take days to process your request.
