When the insane, PA weather shifts you indoors, you work on organizing/building out the upper garage building…

A shift from the 90-100 degree weather to torrential downpours.

Decided to work on the rear section of the upper garage on the property, and was sick of having a pair of Paradigm, tower speakers just sitting in the doorway between the two sections. I’m trying to space out speakers up here, so I can listen to music to motivate my old ass, without disturbing the (distant) neighbors. They’re tower speakers, and not meant to be wall mounted, yet I consider all ‘floor space’ a ‘premium’. They only weigh about 70lbs. per speaker, so I bought wall mounts for speakers (intended for satellite speakers, but are rated for 110lbs…).

Looking for hardware that would be able to reliably support them (screws wouldn’t work, and I don’t have a ton of ‘construction hardware’ here), I honed in on a box of 4G63 cam cap bolts. With some 3/8” fender washers and SS exhaust manifold nuts/washers they work perfectly, and I won’t have to think about torque value for them (which has been tattooed upon my mind as this point).

OG Mitsu hardware, for the Save, yet again! I end up using some of my piles of Mitsu hardware collected over the last 30 years for stuff constantly anymore (including my one tractor—seems that Kubota uses Mitsu for their bolts…).

I know there are still OG guys out there from the 1990s as well who are also hoarders.

Time spares no one nor no thing.

Tell me 20 years ago that I’d spend this kind of time restoring a dash and HVAC system, and I would have laughed at you, but the dash had to come out for a heater core, and I was sick of having foam dust blow in my face every time I turned on the fan.

Re-foamed all of the blend door and joints, new heater core, and cleaned out the foam/mouse invasion residue from the last 30+ years.

Hopefully someone down the line will appreciate it when I’m long gone.

Performance mods on these cars are starting to take a back seat to restoration....
