You sold a vehicle and removed the plate off the back---now you have purchased another vehicle--bring your plate or the plate number with you when you are transferring the title. Also, remember to bring the insurance verification. Sometimes you might buy a vehicle from out of state-whatever they say, remember that in Oklahoma you only have 30 days to transfer your title without penalty. Your paper tag may say 60 days but beware, penalty starts after 30 days.

REMEMBER!!! Your license plate belongs to you not the car: so if you sell or tradein your vehicle, take the plate off. If purchasing another vehicle you can use that license plate--bring it with you when you title the vehicle as we will need the number.

Sometimes you have a vehicle, travel trailer, motor home, etc that is not being used, or is mechanically not working-----Oklahoma does NOT have a parking decal-------we have a decal that is for people who have dropped their insurance (black decal) because they are not using the vehicle. But every year you must purchase another black decal-----or penalty will start after your grace month.

When you have purchased a vehicle, do call and let us give you an estimate on the cost to tag and title it. Also, if you didn't receive all the correct paperwork, then you will still have time to acquire it before penalty starts. Penalty begins on the 31st day after the date of purchase. Please be aware...When purchasing a mobile home or manufactured home (not travel trailers) you have to have the title, a notarized bill of sale and Form 936 (form available at the county assessors office in the county that the trailer was located). We need all these to be able to transfer the home into the new owner's name.

Hello out there in FB land--please pass on this message--all rangers, 4 wheelers, etc must be tagged and titled if purchased after 7-1-2005. The dealers do not want to trade with you if you don't have a title.

Kayaks and Canoes will no longer be titled or registered after June 30, 2013. Please don't buy a 3 year tag during June 2012 (boat month)!!
