Every car enthusiast has a vehicle they still think about years later.
At the end of one of our Leadership Intensive interviews at ABC Auto Repair, we asked about the car our guest would most want back.
His answer: a mid-'70s Nova with a 350 V8.
His dad could apparently hear him coming from six blocks away — first because of the tires and later because of the stereo.
That is the kind of automotive story almost everyone can relate to.
Cars become part of our lives, which is one of the reasons maintaining and repairing them properly matters.
At ABC Auto Repair, we help drivers throughout Burien, South Seattle, SeaTac, Tukwila, and surrounding areas keep their vehicles maintained, diagnose difficult problems, and handle everything from general repair to complex engine, transmission, electrical, diesel, German vehicle, and OEM programming work.

Think your truck is fine because nothing is making noise? Look a little closer.

This Ford F-350 with Kirill shows why routine inspections involve more than simply checking whether the engine starts and the truck drives.

The brake rotor and caliper are just as important to your truck's reliability as what is happening under the hood. Batteries, fluids, hoses, cooling components, and other systems all play a role in keeping a heavy-duty vehicle ready for the road.

One question worth considering is: What should be checked during a routine truck inspection?

Brakes, fluid levels, leaks, belts, hoses, steering, suspension, and other critical components can all tell a technician something about your vehicle's condition.

Catching a developing issue early can mean fewer surprises later.

Like this post if you want more practical truck maintenance tips.

During our Leadership Intensive at ABC Auto Repair, one of the conversations focused on what motivates technicians and staff to perform at their best.
That matters more than people may realize.
A strong auto repair shop depends on technicians and advisors who are engaged, supported, and able to work through challenges together.
When leaders understand their team better, communication improves, accountability improves, and people are more likely to take ownership of the work they do.
For customers, that can mean a smoother repair process, clearer communication, stronger teamwork, and more consistent results.
At ABC Auto Repair, we continue investing in leadership, training, and team development because the quality of the people behind the repair matters just as much as the tools and equipment.
Serving Burien, South Seattle, SeaTac, Tukwila, and surrounding communities with maintenance, diagnostics, electrical repair, German and European vehicles, engines, transmissions, diesel service, and OEM programming.

After hosting automotive leaders from across the U.S. and Canada at ABC Auto Repair, we ended this interview with something every car enthusiast can relate to.
What car would you want back?
Our guest spends his time advising automotive repair shops rather than working on cars himself, but if he had a lift in his garage, his choice would be the car he drove in high school.
Sometimes the best automotive conversations aren’t about business strategy or diagnostics — they’re about the cars that made us love this industry in the first place.
We were glad to host some of the industry’s top leaders at ABC Auto Repair and bring that experience back to our team and our customers.
Serving Burien, South Seattle, SeaTac, Tukwila, and surrounding communities with maintenance, diagnostics, electrical repair, German and European vehicles, engines, transmissions, diesel service, and OEM programming.

At the Leadership Intensive hosted at ABC Auto Repair, automotive professionals from across the U.S. and Canada came together to work on building stronger teams.
In this clip, Christopher Gates from Chris German Auto in Redmond talks about understanding how beliefs are formed—and how those beliefs can either help or hinder growth.
That idea matters in automotive repair.
The industry continues changing, and strong technicians and leaders have to keep learning, challenge old assumptions, and adapt to new technology, new repair methods, and more complex vehicles.
At ABC Auto Repair, we invest in leadership and personal development for the same reason we invest in diagnostics, equipment, technical information, and OEM capabilities: we want the people behind the repair to keep getting better too.
Serving Burien, South Seattle, SeaTac, Tukwila, and surrounding communities with maintenance, German and European auto repair, advanced diagnostics, electrical repair, engines, transmissions, diesel service, and OEM programming.

We spent three days at ABC Auto Repair focused on one of the most important parts of running a strong repair facility: building a better team.
In this clip, our Service Manager Dipender talks about how teamwork affects where a shop is headed and how it grows.
That matters to customers more than most people realize.
A vehicle may move through inspection, diagnosis, estimating, parts sourcing, repair, quality control, and final communication. When the entire team is aligned, the process becomes more efficient and more consistent.
At ABC Auto Repair, we invest in leadership, teamwork, and continuous improvement because we believe stronger internal systems help us provide better diagnostics, clearer communication, and better repair outcomes.
Serving Burien, South Seattle, SeaTac, Tukwila, and surrounding communities with routine maintenance, advanced diagnostics, electrical repair, German and European vehicles, engines, transmissions, diesel service, and OEM programming.

During the Leadership Intensive hosted at ABC Auto Repair, I spoke with Kyle from Unique Auto Repair in Indiana about what he was taking back to his shop.
One of his biggest lessons was understanding how differently people perceive situations and make decisions.
That matters in automotive repair.
A repair facility depends on technicians, service advisors, managers, parts suppliers, and customers all communicating effectively. Strong leadership helps those people understand each other, solve problems faster, and work toward the same goal.
That is part of the competitive advantage we are continuing to build at ABC Auto Repair.
We invest in leadership and team development alongside our technical capabilities because better people and better systems can lead to better inspections, clearer communication, stronger diagnostics, and a more consistent repair experience.

Want your diesel truck to make it to 300,000 miles? Start before something breaks.

Kirill is working through this Ford F-350 Super Duty with that long-term goal in mind. Before calling something a "tune-up," the team is looking at the truck's history, its current condition, and the maintenance it may have missed along the way.

That brings up an important question for diesel owners: How often should fuel filters be replaced? While the exact interval depends on the vehicle, 60,000 miles is a long stretch without a fuel filter change when typical recommendations can fall around 15,000 to 30,000 miles or five years.

This truck is still being worked on, with a full inspection, oil service, fuel filter replacement, differential repair, and road test ahead.

The goal? Build a clear maintenance roadmap for the next 300,000 miles.

DM us if you want to know what your Super Duty needs next.

We officially wrapped up our three-day Leadership Intensive at ABC Auto Repair.
Michael Smith traveled from Washington, D.C. with the Institute for Automotive Business Excellence to work with automotive shop leaders who came from across the United States and Canada — including shops traveling from as far away as Florida.
The focus was leadership, team development, stronger systems, and finding better ways to operate in a changing automotive industry.
For our customers, that investment matters.
Better leadership can mean better communication, stronger accountability, more consistent repair processes, better-trained teams, and a shop that keeps improving instead of relying on the way things have always been done.
At ABC Auto Repair, we want to stay ahead of the industry so our customers benefit from better service, stronger diagnostics, and better repair solutions.
Serving Burien, South Seattle, SeaTac, Tukwila, and surrounding communities with everything from routine maintenance to advanced diagnostics, electrical repair, engines, transmissions, German vehicles, diesel service, and OEM programming.

During the Leadership Intensive hosted at ABC Auto Repair, I asked the shop foreman from Chris’s German, a Porsche-focused repair facility in Redmond, what advantage this type of training gives a shop over its competition.
His answer was simple: understanding how people function and work helps you become better than average.
That matters in automotive repair more than customers may realize.
Complex German and European vehicles require technically capable technicians—but successful repairs also depend on teamwork, communication, leadership, accountability and strong processes behind the scenes.
That’s why ABC Auto Repair continues investing in both technical capability and the people responsible for delivering it.
We provide drivers throughout Burien, South Seattle, SeaTac and Tukwila with German and European vehicle service, advanced diagnostics, electrical repair, maintenance, engine and transmission work, and OEM-level programming.
Better technicians matter. Better teams matter too.
