Japan Auction update - USS Tokyo 05/28/2026.

My last day at the auctions for a couple months so more info than I normally share publicly. Interesting selection but no wins - results below.

Thanks NEXIS moto & autoat .jp for the support. Reach out to them for a login - and if you’re ready to bid, I’m generally happy to assist.

I’d like to offer an observation - many believe Japan is the land of clean vehicles and as a ‘high trust’ environment, you can’t loose. I may respectfully disagree. Sellers are not bound by the same legal / disclosure / recourse / ethics - we’re accustomed to in the USA / Europe.

if you ‘KNOW’ Japan auctions present ‘good deal’ and you want to get in on the action - because it looks like fun or easy money - please reconsider. Do the math for the total cost to import. Get your vehicles inspected. Keep some $¥€ in reserve.

Don’t mistake buying at auction as ‘fun’. Take a calculated risk and don’t over-pay. If after all fees you’re ‘in the money’ - now that’s fun!

Don’t forget to tip your server.

Presently in Japan in preparation for shipment to the USA for June/July arrival.

One of the more technically fascinating Japanese sport bikes of the 1980s, the Kawasaki KR250S was developed directly from Kawasaki’s Grand Prix racing program and remains unlike virtually anything else produced during the era.

This example is in good original condition. Starts easy on the first kick; runs well with stable idle, good torque and clean throttle-response. Shifting / brakes / suspension all feel excellent. All gauges / lights work work – with the exception of the horn.

At the heart of the KR250S is Kawasaki’s unusual liquid-cooled “Tandem Twin” engine — a compact 2-stroke design with two cylinders arranged front-to-back and coupled to a shared crankshaft. Combined with Kawasaki’s aluminum perimeter frame and AVDS suspension, the KR delivered genuine GP-inspired engineering in a lightweight road-going package. Distinctive factory red/white/blue livery and period-correct appearance.

An uncommon motorcycle that stands apart even among collectible 1980s Japanese sport bikes. If you are seeking something different from the typical RG / RZ / NSR, the KR250S offers a uniquely inventive chapter in the 1980s Japanese 2-stroke era.

Fresh battery and fuel and runs and rides excellent. Need to address a leaking fuel-petcock so ran out of fuel - but trivial issue we will address…

Starts right up, idles well and clean throttle response - riding dynamics are great. Signals and instruments all work as they should and the bike is fundamentally sound.

The Suzuki RG400 Gamma (and the RG500 big-brother) is one of the defining Japanese sport bikes of the 1980s—lightweight, sharp-handling, and powered by an exotic square-four 2-stroke engine derived directly from Suzuki’s Grand Prix racing program.

The RG400 motor is a compact twin-crank “square four” layout with rotary disc valves and Mikuni flat-slide carburetors. Iconic sound and smell / very tractable and really a lot of fun to ride.

This example shows just 6,781 kilometers and presents in overall solid, honest condition with attractive original-style bodywork and graphics. The white/red/black livery is characteristic of Suzuki endurance-racing and period RG Gamma styling from the mid-1980s.

Recently out of long-term storage – needs some cleanup and fresh fluids / tires prior to regular riding. While overall riding dynamics are good, tires are due for replacement and front brake lever is soft – brakes feel linear, like fresh fluid is in order. Rear brakes are softer yet and rear-brake caliper is lightly dragging so fluid and possibly rebuild the caliper.

Excellent condition inside and out. Finished in Azure Blue Pearl (5366) black leather interior. This example presents very well – exterior looks nearly new. Interior is clean and largely original. Gauges, switchgear, and trim show normal light wear consistent with age. Includes original books and some service records.

It features the excellent M112 V6 engine and 5-speed transmission with full-time 4WD, dual-range transfer case, and the triple locking differentials. Mechanically the truck runs and drives well. Engine runs perfect and transmission shifts properly, and the drivetrain operates as it should. Underside and frame are very clean.

Obsidian Black Metallic with black leather seats. This is an unusual early Mercedes-AMG version – delivered from the factory with the AMG 5.5 liter V8 113.982 producing approximately 349–354 horsepower, paired with a 5-speed automatic transmission and full-time four-wheel drive.

The G55 AMG represented the top performance variant of the G-Class during the early W463 period and remains far less common than standard G500 or later MBUSA G55.

Interior presents well with good leather and original trim. Gauges, switches, and accessories function normally.

Mechanically the truck runs strong and drives as expected. The V8 runs excellent and delivers the strong mid-range torque typical of the AMG M113 platform.

Exterior paint are quite nice with cosmetic wear consistent with age. Frame and underbody are clean.

Desirable early AMG G-Class combining classic W463 design with one of AMG’s most durable V8 engines.

Interior is clean and largely original. Gauges, switchgear, and trim show normal light wear consistent with age.

It features the excellent M112 V6 engine and 5-speed transmission for better efficiency and power than the earlier M104 powered G320. Mechanically the truck runs and drives well. Engine starts easily, transmission shifts properly, and the drivetrain operates as it should (front diflock vacuum needs investigation).

Body and chassis present well with good paint and a straight structure. Underside and frame appear solid and includes original books and some service records.
