Had to move the fuel pump on Doc's Cuda. Originally he had it on the inside of the passenger side frame hump over the axle. On an uphill pull it started sucking air. Decided to hang it off the tank with a shut off valve and a new filter. Had to make a bracket to hold it in place. Attaches to the spare tire sump in the trunk. From Solidworks to Send Cut Send to the the welding bench to the car.

Chrysler A904 used in an AMC Jeep Cherokee application. On top of all the leaks due to some poor decisions by the previous owner, this unit slammed hard whenever it was shifted into reverse. The main culprit being a worn valve body separator plate in the reverse ball area near the accumulator. Could not find the pic of that.

This got a full rebuild with stock clutches, steels, bands, seals, etc and all the proper adjustments on throttle pressure, line pressure, and each band. We don't have the checker tool for throttle pressure adjustment, but a dial caliper and 1/8" drill bit got it gauged in at the proper distance of .625". Line pressure adjustments were set at 1.3125" using a finely marked metal ruler.

Kickdown adjustment on this unit is 72lbin and backed out 2.5 turns. Low/Reverse is 42lbin and 7 turns out. These are hot topics of debate, but on a stock unit with no internal mods we follow the FSM.

We added -6an fittings for the aftermarket cooler we'll be adding into the circuit. The NP207 is also getting a refresh.

Stay tuned.

A little bit of Cuda wheel and tire info.

Front: American Racing Torque Thrust II VN2155465 15x4 bilt pattern, 1.52" backspace, -25mm offset wrapped in BFG Radiak T/A 155/80R15 06462.

Doc tried using a 26" Mickey Thompson, but it rubbed and at this point didn't feel like cutting into the fenders.

For reference upfronr thats a Wilwood disc brake swap from Dr. Diff using the larger ball joint 71' and up A-Body spindles. There's an adjustable Summit Racing drag shock in there and a PST adjustable strut rod.

Rear: 15x11 Jegs weld knock offs with 275/60R15 Cooper rubber. Not sure of the backspace and offset on the wheek. They cam with the car. You can see a Mopar Performance 2800lb Super Stoxk spring under there, lowered with blocks from Speedway motors 3". Springs are hanging off the fram with a USCT inboard kit. Tubs by C/S Speed.

The stock 225 Slant Six engine uses an intake manifold that is attached to the exhaust manifold via 2 bolts and a stud. On this 2 bbl setup there is a pocket below the carb, direcrly where the exhaust manifold would bolt. This pocket was used for EGR and to keep the carburetor from icing. Ditching the stock exhaust manifold could present and issue for a daily driver.

Solution: A coolant plate to circulate engine coolant under the carb to keep it warm.

Laser cut 1/2" aluminum fixture plate to seal the bottom of the cavity on the intake and an 1/8" piece of stainless to seal the EGR passage. A pair of low profile -8AN swivels adapted to -10AN with have coolant pumped from the heater core circuit.

Should do the trick on those cooler mornings and nights.

Here's some shots for all you metal heads. Doc dug in to the recent archives for these. When he got the car back in March of 23 one of the previous owners tried to do a mini tub. It didnt go well for them/stalled/was too hard, whatever.

You can see from the first few pics the inner wheel wells were already cut out...not straight or clean at all. It's not pictured, but each side needed an arch with a lip made for the back half of the outer well to make a weld fl**ge for the filler piece and the new tub. Doc broke out the shrinker on that deal.

The rest is new inner tubs from , fillera from USCT, and floor pieces Doc fabbed up.

He'll pull the wheels in a few days and show you the tire side shots.

The last shot is the b-pillar where years of rat/mouse s**t and p**s rotted the inner steel. He's got a repaired shot somewhere but not here. He laser cut a piece he CAD designed and welded it in.

VG30DETT with T56XL transmission. Very nice bellhousing kit from . Tilton internal release bearing with extended piston on bearing. Dialing in clutch clearance was easy, the Tilton mount and bearing are threaded. Just have to finish dressing the engine and we'll lower the car back to the subframe.

Stay tuned.
