This past week, I had the pleasure of bringing another great team together to work on Trolley Car #80—a 95-year-old piece of history.
To some, it may seem like just an old trolley. To us, it means everything. Someone’s grandfather/great grandfather helped build it, and this trolley will likely outlive all of us. Preserving it was our number one priority.
Day 1: We began with a full decontamination wash and clay bar treatment to prepare the surface.
Day 2: The polishers came out. Working with 95-year-old single-stage paint and an unknown history is never simple, but the team quickly worked through the puzzle and found the right approach.
Day 3: Ceramic coating day. It took plenty of towels, a lot of shoulder work, and a generous amount of coating to protect this piece of history.
These are the projects I’m truly grateful for. Money comes and goes, but the memories made with passionate, like-minded people are what keep me loving this industry. For us, it’s never just a job—it’s always about passion, care, and process.
A heartfelt thank-you to Barjack Tools and SB3 Coatings for helping make this possible by supplying lunch, polishers, pads, and all of the coating. I’m thankful to be part of an industry where good people are always willing to show up and help. Thank you to I appreciate you both! ❤️🙏
❤️ Preserving history, one careful step at a time ❤️
