There is a big problem with the collision repair industry, and that is, most shops have the mindset of fixing vehicles "for the insurance company".

That is totally backwards and scary, to be honest. YOU, the guest at our shop, are who we fix vehicles for. Not the insurance company. The insurance company is essentially a bank to reimburse you for the repair costs.

Way too many shops fix vehicles how the insurance companies want the vehicles fixed (to save the insurance companies money). This includes using imitation parts, junkyard parts, or repairing parts that simply shouldn't be repaired. These shops also probably aren't telling you that this is how they are fixing your vehicle.

I'm not saying that you need to go to us for your repairs, nor that all insurance companies are bad. What I'm saying is, maybe do a little research: ask your shop questions about the repair process and if they follow OEM procedures. Vehicles are way more advanced than they were 20 years ago, heck they're way more advanced than they were 10 years ago. As technology advances, shops need to advance as well.

A body shop's job is no longer just pounding out dents and making the exterior look pretty. There's way more than that.
