In January I stayed up for almost a week straight finishing up this lifted X5 project in time to drive it 1000 miles to my GFs work holiday party and give it to her. I liked it so much, I built another lifted X5 out of the three parts cars I had.
Even though they're LED, all the sets of lights have their own fuse and relay. The switches inside are also purple. Even the purple rock lights have their own fuse and relay. I hate bad, shoddy wiring and my own cars are no exception.
Somehow I ended up with an E70 X5 with heated, cooled, and massaging seats (anti-fatigue), active suspension, and the glorious M57 diesel engine.
I proceeded to add a 3 inch lift kit I built myself, 32 inch GoodYear Wrangler Territory MT tires, and I'm currently fabricating a tube bumper for the front because I hate the pre-LCI front bumper style. This one will have a matching spare tire rack like her X5 because it just adds to the off-road asthetic.
As is tradition, everything is made strong enough for Alex to stand on. She likes to climb and stand on everything.
We now have matching his and hers lifted X5s. We're having fun and that's what matters.
