Ok folks, some real talk for a minute.

When I started Carter Automotive, almost 5 years ago, one of my goals was to provide the best repairs possible as affordably as possible. This includes things like tires, and routine maintenance (oil changes, etc.).

I am seeing things today that I have not seen in my over 30 years in the automotive industry.

This is not a political post. This is an informational post. Information that you, as consumers, fellow business owners, and hard working folks should ALL be aware of.

Because of current world conditions, we are seeing shortages of the most common parts and the some of necessary items needed to adequately repair some vehicles.

We currently have a 2025 Ram truck that needs a water pump. National back order.

We have a customer with a 2020 Buick that needs a transmission. National back order. Parts to rebuild the one she has. National back order.

And then today, my oil supplier sent me an email. In short it states that oil prices will fluctuate WEEKLY, and we are in the beginning of a global shortage of lubricants. I may pay $8 a quart this week, and $10 a quart (higher/lower) next week.

I will continue to do my level best to continue to provide the most affordable prices possible.

In closing, no matter where you go to have your vehicle serviced or repaired, please be as understanding as possible as far as pricing and availability of products is concerned. This current global market is going to make for some very difficult situations going forward.
