25 years later, it’s hard to believe how clearly so many of us can still remember that day.
We remember where we were, who we were with, and the feeling of watching something unfold that we knew would change our country forever.
Today, we remember the people who never made it home, the first responders who ran toward danger, and the families whose lives changed in an instant.
But we also remember what came after; the flags everywhere, strangers helping strangers, and a country that, for a time, felt incredibly united.
Twenty-five years later, a whole generation has grown up knowing September 11 only through the stories we tell. That makes remembering and continuing to tell those stories even more important.
May we never forget those we lost, the courage we witnessed, or what it felt like to stand together as Americans.
