Several people from the McCook, Nebraska area have reached out with concerns on the hail chances tonite. This person asked a great question. If you have already had a hail estimate done, yes it will need to be re-estimated if we receive more damage tonight. If you have not had one done we will write one estimate specifying that it was in multiple storms.

Question:
So with the pending storm tonite how does that work? Do you just redo them?
Answer:
Good question! It depends on who you ask. Your insurance company will always encourage you to "wait until hail season is over". Of course they have many reasons for that but NONE of them are in YOUR best interest. One of the main reasons I advise against waiting to file a claim is because multiple storms can cause enough damage to total a vehicle out. Most of this damage is already severe, another storm will definitely push several vehicles over the threshold. Make the claim and get the repairs as soon as possible, with whatever shop you choose. Contrary to popular belief, your insurance company cannot raise you rates individually for a hail claim, or any claim involving an "act of God" as they classify it. Storm damage, animal hits, etc. They can raise your communities rates as a whole after a significant storm, but not yours individually.
When storms are back to back this is sometimes unavoidable. I have repaired vehicles once and sometimes twice in a few months time.
