Before you add a rust protection or undercoating package at the dealership, make sure you know exactly what you’re paying for.
Not all dealer undercoatings are bad — but the words “rust protection” and “rust warranty” can sound much broader than the actual application or coverage.
Before buying, ask:
What product is being applied?
What areas of the vehicle are actually treated?
Is the inside of the frame protected?
Are rocker panels and hidden cavities addressed?
Does the coverage include surface rust, or only rust perforation?
Does the protection require inspections or future maintenance?
The application matters just as much as the product.
At Central Wisconsin Auto Spa, we use WoolWax, a soft, lanolin-based corrosion protection that stays pliable and works its way into seams and hard-to-reach areas instead of drying into a hard shell.
We offer two levels of protection:
Basic Underbody Protection
Undercarriage + inside the frame
Full Cavity Protection
Undercarriage + frame + doors + tailgate + additional hidden cavities
And because Wisconsin salt, slush, and road debris don’t stop after one winter, we believe corrosion protection should actually be inspected — not forgotten about after the day it was installed.
If you plan on keeping your vehicle for years, protect it before corrosion becomes the problem.
