To our friends, followers and customers, let us dispel some rumors and lies regarding the post in the picture attached.
Almost none of this was true. What is true is that we removed things that were rightfully ours under the guidance of multiple attorneys we had to hire due to his unwillingness to cooperate with us and hold up to multiple agreements made with the purchase of Finish Line Transmissions.
We did not take anything from his personal toolbox or anything belonging to customers (although in order to move equipment, customers parts were put together on shelving units).
After the closing of the sale, his demeanor quickly changed, and it became apparent there were things being hidden from us (shame on us for not doing our due diligence). Between his failure to pay an employee 3 weeks worth of pay, requesting a 30k investment due to having no money, and him admitting to being “20-25 transmissions behind” (Recorded quote from Chuck himself) our attorney advised us to change course. After multiple attempts at trying to contact him and his lawyers, we were met with no response, refusal to adhere to the contract, or excuses about work being slow due to the War.
Make no mistake, as of the closing date of the contract the business and assets were legally owned by Carl Palminteri. The police “8 squad cars worth” that were called on us told us we were well in our rights after going through the contract as well. Plus didn’t break in, we used our keys.
Finally, you all know Carl. You all know the kind of person he is and how much he appreciates all of you. Him and Chuck had a vision of where this could go together. Chuck sold the business to Carl because he believed Carl could take it to levels he couldn’t. Carl wanted him involved, wanted him to teach, and wanted his knowledge to be a part of this. Chuck wanted that too, as he would tell many of the customers and friends that visited his shop while I was there, letting them all know it was in good hands. Not sure what changed after more than half of the business was paid for and the Monte Carlo was under his name. Carl never wanted it this way.
We won’t be answering any further questions about this as the attorneys will be moving forward with cleaning this up.
We truly appreciate all of your support, and we will continue to do right by our customers and provide the best products and services we can and always have. God bless.
