Dear Customers & friends:

In 1980, I started working at Scarboro Major Muffler, for Glen & Jeanne Johnson, who owned the land & building at 191 Rt. 1 in Scarborough. They took a chance on a young 24 year old man looking to make his own way & on November 6, 1981, with the help, support, & loyalty of my customers, friends, & family...I did just that when I opened the doors to Scarboro Muffler Center. I added complete auto care soon after, & we became SMC.

It has not been an easy decision, but after much thought, & more thought...I have come to the decision to sell SMC, & take the first steps toward my retirement.

It's been almost 44 years. There have been many, many days, & customers since. I have enjoyed all of the interactions, conversations, & laughs over the years. I am grateful for the trust you placed in me. I feel fortunate to have been able to watch families grow, & become the mechanic for 2nd & even 3rd generations. The memories of my time at SMC, will never be forgotten. I am grateful beyond measure for all of you. It has been my pleasure...

The new owner is Mark Paulin, of Paulins Tire & Auto care. Mark is an honest business man, puts customer service first, & will continue SMC's tradition of "drop it off, & we'll get it done". He has your information, including your service records which will be helpful in a smooth transition & assures that anything I've worked on that is under warranty, will be taken care of. The phone number will also remain the same. 883-9222.

Mark has asked me to join the team of technicians, & I have agreed to do so. I will be working at the shop on a part time basis & will be available & ready to offer you service & repair on Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday each week. & I will still have used vehicles for sale. Paulins will officially open for business on Wednesday, Feburary 1. The hours will be Monday-Friday, 8a-6p. (The website & FB site addresses are below)
