Great paint doesn't start in the paint booth. It starts with careful preparation, smooth bodywork, and attention to every surface before the first coat is ever sprayed.

The finish gets the attention, but prep earns it.

It only takes a few minutes for the inside of a parked vehicle to become dangerously hot.

Every summer, preventable tragedies occur because a child or pet is left in a parked car—even for what was intended to be "just a minute." The truth is, there is no safe amount of time to leave a child or pet unattended in a vehicle.

A few important reminders:

☀️ A parked vehicle's interior can rise by approximately 20°F in just 10 minutes.
🚫 Cracking the windows does not provide enough cooling to make it safe.
🌳 Parking in the shade may slow the temperature increase, but it won't prevent dangerous heat from building inside.
❤️ Always take children and pets with you, even for the quickest errand.
👀 Before locking your doors, make it a habit to check the back seat every time.

At Hollingsworth Auto Service, we've proudly served Savannah families since 1917. While we're known for repairing vehicles, we also believe in helping keep our community safe. If sharing this reminder helps even one family avoid a tragedy, it's worth it.

Take an extra moment. Look before you lock. Read more:

When your car sits in the Georgia sun, the paint can become much hotter than the outside air. Wash it at the wrong time, and soap and water can dry before you're finished, leaving behind streaks, water spots, and residue.

A few simple tips can help protect your finish:

☀️ Wash early in the morning or later in the evening.
🏖️ Whenever possible, park in the shade before washing.
🧽 Work one section at a time and rinse often.
💧 Dry your vehicle immediately with a clean microfiber towel to prevent water spots.
🛡️ Keep your paint protected with a quality wax or sealant.

At Hollingsworth Auto Service, we've been helping Savannah drivers care for their vehicles since 1917. Regular washing isn't just about keeping your car looking great, it's one of the easiest ways to protect your paint and preserve your investment.
