It was an emotional night on Saturday, at the Home Town Bats Home Run Derby. Matt Bertrang from Rollx Vans drove a wheelchair accessible Chrysler Pacifica onto the field as it was presented to fourteen-year-old Jacob Kirchner.

Jacob grew up as a young ball player. At age 7, Jacob was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. The van is built so Jacob can drive his scooter right up a ramp and travel far more easily, an everyday gamechanger for the whole family.

Proceeds came together from every corner of the event: silent auctions, live auctions, food sales, and the donations of neighbors who simply wanted to help.

And when the swinging was done, the night closed the only way a celebration like this should — with a spectacular fireworks show lighting up the sky over Union Hill.

"First time buying a vehicle thru the web. It was a good experience. Obviously some things missed by not seeing and touching the product before buying. Recommendations, connect ramp operation to one remote. Having 2 remotes is cumbersome. Another detail is the flooring in the wheelchair area. Should consider placing rubber in that area versus carpet. Easier to clean and especially dealing with rainy days.
