U.P. Tire is going to close on Saturday, November 29, after Thanksgiving to give our employees precious time with their families. We may not want to say it but we’re going to say it. Snow tire season is coming! To better serve our community, we will be opening seasonally on Saturdays beginning on Saturday, October 18 2025 until Saturday, December 20, 2025 from 9:00am until 1:00pm. Make an appointment for service and installation on our website or give us a call to book a time. We’ll also do our very best to accommodate last minute needs and walk-in’s. We’ll get you in and back on road and ready for safe winter driving as fast as possible!r

260 Tires Removed — A Grateful Shoutout to an Incredible Team Effort in Kinross today.

There are a lot of people to thank after the safe and efficient removal of more than 260 illegally dumped tires on a beautiful nature trails in the Kinross area.

First, a huge thank-you to the team at U.P. Tire — Dan, RJ, Gage, David, Ron, Ian, Zach, and Scott — who didn’t hesitate to step up and do what was right. Their work ethic, attitude, and sense of responsibility made this happen.

We’re also grateful to Justin Sav of Sav’s Garage, who showed up with his own truck and trailer, ready to lend a hand. That’s the kind of neighborly support that makes small communities strong.

A big thanks as well to the Michigan DNR officers and Kinross Township volunteers who came out to help. Many hands truly made light work — and now Mother Nature can begin reclaiming the space where that mountain of tires once sat.

The Well Diggers Watering Hole & Feed Lot Restaurant on M-80 in Kinross treated everyone to dinner afterward, and that kindness meant more than we can say after a long, dirty day. Leslie...you make one helluva burger !

And to the generous customer who quietly donated to the cause — you know who you are — thank you. Your gift will be passed along to an organization that would have meant a great deal to Charlie Brown, the founder of U.P. Tire.

To the wider community: thank you for the messages, the encouragement, the cheers — and yes, even to the anonymous naysayer. Your comment fired us up just enough to work harder, pull tighter as a team, and prove what this community is capable of.

This wasn’t about getting credit. It was about doing the right thing, together. I also want to highlight the power and importance of local business and supporting local business. Wal-Mart has billions of dollars at their disposal yet, I didn't see them giving of their time or contributing back to the community in any meaningful way. Supporting local business keeps money in our community.
