Hoyts History of Hoyt's Leo Hoyt opened in 1949 on Main Street in Sarasota, and has been in the present location since 1979.

Leo's father and grandfather both began as trimmers at Judkins Carriage Works in Massachusetts. Leo's grandfather started there in the 1880's, and actually upholstered John Ringling's Carriage. Today, some of our trimmers have been wit us for over 20 years, keeping the same Hoyt craftsmanship as the original founder.
