OEM or aftermarket? What’s the difference?

OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. OEM glass is made by the vehicle manufacturer or produced to their specifications.

Aftermarket glass is made by a different manufacturer and is designed to fit the vehicle, but specifications can vary.

And with newer vehicles, your windshield can be connected to more than just visibility. Cameras, sensors, heads-up displays and other ADAS features can all factor into which glass is appropriate and whether calibration is needed after replacement.
