Fighting Evil Insurance Practices

Fighting Evil Insurance Practices A place for Body Shops to find helpful info to help them get paid so they can do safe and proper repairs I started collecting info to help fight a better fight.

Around 2012 I decided to start making my stand for my customers and myself instead of being bulled around by adjusters. When they refused to pay for proper repair methods and parts that will cause safety issues and diminish the value of your customers' autos even more than if the car is repaired properly. If you are a shop owner, tech, business coach, or attorney that would like to help feel free to PM me any helpful info, etc. Best of luck Eddie Martin owner of The Dent Devils

Estimating Tip: CCC, Mitchell and Audatex- Basecoat blender AKA “Wet Bed”
Recent DEG Inquiry 18844 https://deg-heroku-18.herokuapp.com/inquiries/18844 for Audatex states “Audatex blending formula does not include the basecoat blender application process. If this process is needed, we suggest to add a manual entry for this labor allowance.”
Conversely, CCC Includes “Wet Bed Application” on blend panels per the Guide to estimating https://help.cccis.com/webhelp/motor/gte/guide.htm... . Additional information regarding applying a wet bed on repaired panels refinish can be found in Inquiry 11591 https://deg-heroku-18.herokuapp.com/inquiries/11591
Mitchell Inquiry 11428 https://deg-heroku-18.herokuapp.com/inquiries/11428 addresses “Adhesion Bonding Coat” similarly to CCC, and identifies wet bed as an included part of the blend process under the single stage/two stage colors in procedure page 28.
Final DEG Note:
For CCC and Mitchell products, wet bed is only considered in blend formula allowances.
Blend formulas are NOT considered for full panel or repaired panel refinish scenarios.
Any additional steps not outlined in the new undamaged panel section is NOT INCLUDED, nor is any material cost.
Audatex never includes wet bed process in any refinish scenario.
