We’re changing things up for Ocotillo on the Rocks 2026!

This year, attendees will have access to a collection of pre-run routes through onX Offroad, with trails organized by Green, Blue and Black difficulty levels. Download the routes, meet up with people at camp, and head out when it works for you.

In Part 1, John explains how the new trail system will work and kicks things off from the Yuha Desert while the team is out pre-running routes for the event.

Your trails. Your schedule.
More trail scouting coming soon.

Sprinter Diff-Lock, talk to me!

It was a message I had been patiently waiting for a long time now but you rarely come across people like Aidan Urbanarkoverland , people who innovate, trail-blaze or stick their neck out to find answers no-one has yet dared to find.

Aidan has a vision and a niggling question that I think a lot of us share who have our sights firmly locked onto big vans; ‘would a lifted, locked Sprinter be capable of anything you’re willing to point a 4x4 Sprinter at?’ Well I’m hoping we may be lucky enough to be given those answers over on his Youtube channel very soon 😉

I would be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous throughout this job, anyone who has experience in major-unit overhauls will tell you: building something on a bench is one thing but putting that thing to work in the real-world can almost be haunting until you have found that reassurance.
For me, I have never managed to shake the nerves I get when it comes down to seeing if your work actually ‘works’ even with decades of experience in this sort of stuff.

You may be thinking this is quite a sentimental post for an Air-locker, however! to me this is a lil’ bit more than just a successful install. The start of something maybe? I couldn’t even tell you what. But it feels a step closer to the dream i’ve always had since starting ALTVAN of sitting with my feet firmly under the table of the biggest names in adventure vans in the UK, this post is just me putting a little marker on that achievement.

I was given a task but I have gained a friend and I can’t thank Aidan enough for his trust and the efforts he has made to enable us to have carried out this install, not to mention the relenting effort he has already put in to spreading the ALTVAN name. I also cannot forget to give a massive thanks to 🅐🅟🅔 🅐🅓🅥🅔🅝🅣🅤🅡🅔 🅥🅐🅝🅢 for recommending us for the job in the first place, having your name shared by someone you have looked up to for so long really tickles the spot.

Thank you all for the continued support and helping shape ALTVAN into what it is.

Hope you all have a great bank holiday weekend!

Sam

Remembering Ramsey Walter El Wardani

Ten years ago today, we lost Ramsey El Wardani : racer, builder, visionary, friend, and the original founder of Agile Offroad.

Ramsey was deeply rooted in the off-road world. Under his One Man Racing mark, he became a four-time Baja 1000 class winner. His racing experience gave him the credibility to develop products for the environments they were actually intended to survive, and it also shaped the mindset that would eventually become Agile Offroad.

Later in life, Ramsey and his wife Jan bought a Ford E350 to explore and camp throughout Baja. He wasn’t satisfied with the way the available 4WD vans of the time rode or drove, so he and Glen set out to build something better.

That became the Agile Twin Traction Beam 4x4 System, and, ultimately, the beginning of Agile Offroad.

In 2015, Agile bought a Sprinter and began developing a 4x4 conversion for that platform as well. When Mercedes-Benz introduced its own factory 4WD Sprinter, the focus shifted toward suspension, ride quality, handling and capability. Work that still defines a large part of what we do today.

Ramsey was also an active member of communities like Pirate4x4, Sportsmobile and Race-Dezert, and was a close friend to John, Glen and Jesus. His longtime friend Greg occasionally shared driving duties in Ramsey’s race car.

More than anything, Ramsey was remembered as a visionary and an inspiring person. Someone who saw a problem, believed there was a better way, and went out and built it.

Ten years later, his spirit is still very much a part of Agile Offroad.

In loving memory of Ramsey Walter El Wardani

A lot of Grenadier owners have been waiting for this one.

Our latest AVD tutorial takes a first look at the new Easy Coding functionality, including the ability to remove the warning lights, head-unit messages, and chimes associated with the Grenadier’s ADAS systems.

Lance also explains the two different ways to handle the ADAS functions themselves and, importantly, what the software is actually changing versus what still has to be handled separately.

And make sure to stick around till the end of the video in order to get the password that allows access to these features.

Watch the full walkthrough here :

Disclaimer: These Easy Coding features involve factory safety-related systems and should only be used with a full understanding of the changes being made and their potential consequences.

The age-old van question : Sprinter or Transit?

We’re staying out of this one. We want to hear from you. If you had to choose one platform for your next build, which way are you going and why?

Drivetrain? Reliability? Serviceability? Aftermarket support? Off-road capability? Interior space? Or are you just loyal to one badge?

Sound off below. 👇

We sent our Marketing Director Laura to London with one very important objective:

Visit The Grenadier pub, the place where the idea for the INEOS Grenadier was born, and leave a little piece of Agile Offroad behind.

One Agile patch, and a very successful operation later…
MISSION ACCOMPLISHED. 🫡

Now there’s a little bit of Agile hanging out at the birthplace of the Grenadier.

Wheel Check 👀 What Are You Running?

We’ve had a pretty good variety of wheels rolling through the shop lately.

Black, bronze, factory, aftermarket, simple, aggressive. There are a lot of ways to change the look and setup of a van with one choice.

So we’re curious: what wheels are you running on your rig right now?

Drop the wheel, tire, and size combo in the comments. Bonus points for photos.

This one definitely doesn’t blend into the crowd.

This custom-bodied Sprinter came through the Agile shop for a few key upgrades, including an air locker and our top-tier FOX Factory Race Series RIP Kit.

Plenty of interesting details on this rig, but the part we’re especially excited about is what’s underneath it now.

Ready for the next adventure.
