Here’s exactly what we reach for in the shop:
We start with the heavy hitter — the Rupes BigFoot LH19E Rotary. This 1200-watt torque monster with variable speeds (450–1700 RPM) tackles deep scratches, heavy swirls, and oxidation on flat panels. Fast, aggressive cutting with wool pads when the paint needs serious correction — always with controlled passes to protect that clear coat.
Next up for refinement: the Rupes BigFoot LHR21 Mark V — our 21mm orbital powerhouse. It keeps the correction going across large areas while reducing heat and holograms. Perfect balance for exotics and classics.

How To! Polishing and Coating vintage Porsche glass with Modesta’s EGC premium glass coating that adds a microscopic layer on the exterior glass improving visibility, especially in rain, ice and snow as well as inhibiting the adhesion of bugs, dirt and grime. Today we cover the standard prep, polish and application of our favorite glass coating! This process works excellent on most exterior glass that is in relatively good shape. Heavy etched water spots and soft glass may require a different approach and additional attention.
