Meet Evee. ❤️🐾
This beautiful 2-year-old Doberman Pinscher mix has already been through more in her young life than any dog should have to — and somehow, she’s still the sweetest, happiest girl.
Evee came to Española Humane in June after being hit by a car. She was frightened, unable to stand, and suffering from devastating injuries. The medical team went to work immediately, sending her into surgery and conducting extensive imaging to understand the full extent of her injuries.
And then came the long road back.
Medications. More procedures. More surgeries. Rehabilitation. Careful monitoring. Setbacks. Small victories. And a whole lot of patience.
When Evee was finally strong enough to leave the shelter for foster care, she went home with longtime foster Linda — someone who has a special gift for seeing the dog underneath the injury and giving sick, frightened, or complicated animals the time they need to find their footing again.
Evee’s injured leg was still uncertain, and amputation became a very real possibility. But Linda wasn't ready to give up on it. She opened her home to Evee and gave her the time, care, and dedication to see what was possible.
And look at her now.
Four legs. Four paws. One very happy girl. 🥹
Evee didn't get here because her road was easy. She got here because a whole lot of people refused to let a hard beginning be the end of her story.
Española Humane’s medical team fought for her. Linda gave her a safe place to heal. And Evee did what she does best: she kept going.
Now, after months of healing, Evee is ready to trade recovery for adventure and a shelter story for a forever story. She's playful, loving, good on leash, knows her basic cues, and loves hanging out with her people and making dog friends.
This is exactly why we’re proud to support Española Humane.
Evee has already fought so hard for her second chance.
Now she just needs someone to give her the life she’s been waiting for. ❤️
If you think Evee might be your girl, visit espanolahumane.org to learn more or set up a meet and greet.
And if you can’t adopt, sharing her story might be the thing that gets her in front of the right person.
We’re rooting for you, Evee. 🐾❤️
