🏁 IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT – HOT ROD HOBBIES DIRT OVAL RACING 🏁
Unfortunately, we have some disappointing news to share with our dirt oval racing community.
Effective immediately, our Dirt Oval Racing Program at Hot Rod Hobbies will be suspended indefinitely.
This is certainly not an announcement we wanted to make, but due to changes in availability within our dedicated dirt oval track crew, we are no longer in a position to properly maintain and operate the racing program at the level our racers have come to expect and deserve.
For those who may not realize it, putting on a successful racing program involves much more than simply opening the gates and turning on the lights. There are countless hours of track preparation, maintenance, race organization, announcing, and behind-the-scenes responsibilities that most people never see.
Much of this work has been performed by a small group of dedicated individuals who have generously volunteered their time while balancing full-time jobs, family commitments, and their own personal lives.
We cannot thank these individuals enough for everything they have done to keep our dirt oval racing program going. Their dedication, hard work, and passion for the hobby have meant a great deal to us, and we sincerely appreciate the countless hours they have contributed.
At this time, the dirt oval track has been covered to protect the racing surface from the upcoming rainy season and will remain closed for both racing and open practice until further notice.
While we’re certainly disappointed to have to make this announcement, we remain hopeful that this is simply a pause and not the end of dirt oval racing at Hot Rod Hobbies.
We would love to see the program continue, but in order for that to happen, we need a few dedicated individuals willing to step up, take the reins, and help manage the track maintenance and race-day operations.
These are volunteer positions, with complimentary racing and hobby shop discounts offered as a small token of our appreciation.
The good news is that our outgoing dirt oval crew has graciously offered to help train and guide anyone interested in taking over these responsibilities. This would provide an opportunity for new volunteers to learn from the people who have helped make the program successful.
We fully understand that this is a significant commitment, and we certainly don’t take anyone’s time or efforts for granted.
If you or someone you know has the passion, time, and willingness to help keep dirt oval racing alive at Hot Rod Hobbies, please reach out to us directly.
To all of our dirt oval racers, families, and supporters, THANK YOU for being part of the program and for your continued support over the years.
We’ve enjoyed seeing the friendships, competition, and memories made at our dirt oval, and we sincerely hope there will be many more in the future.
Hopefully, this isn’t goodbye. It’s just until we meet again at the track. 🏁
