Race update.. so these guys, these guys, these guys, and the owner and his co-rider did everything to try and make it to the finish. It wasnt to be. On Tuesday early afternoon we knew there was a problem with either the engine or the electrical. We put in numerous hours Wednesday before the race and on race day. We needed a Dyno and a miracle. We got neither. We couldn't keep the car at idle and it ran rough. Jerry and Erik started the race and after the first 10 miles where you could only go 37 mph he got to get on it. We started 7th and by rm 24 he had passed everyone but the 1st car off the line in our class. That's when she decided to stop at full race speed. It took 3 1/4 hours to finally figure out the key fuse had blown. After we put a new one in, the car had a flawless 316 miles ( got flat pulling into pit so no time lost ) next guy up Dave Nance and Jason, had a clean run until he stopped and it wouldn't refire ( After 20 minutes she started up ) he finished his 261 miles and passed it off to Kurt Pfeiffer and Zac , they had a few problems, same thing happened with the fuse, some exhaust bolts came loose, and the hub had loosen up so he limped it in got everything fixed took off and gave the car to the owner John T Holmes and co-rider. They experienced electrical issues and couldn't get the car to go faster than 40 mph. He realized he wasnt going to make the check point cutoff time after rm 957 so he pulled the plug. The car was amazing, the electrical not so much. He'll figure it out and go stronger the next race. It's a great car just need to get the electrical bugs worked out and it should be a super competitive car. It was fun after the fixes and while it lasted. Thanks John Holmes for the chance to drive your car. And thanks to the Entire Pit crew that did an amazing job of not giving up. I know our guys names but not everyone else's so I'll just say THANKS to all of you that chased us and made it so much fun. Even the issues didn't seem as bad. Viva Baja
