Sea turtle nesting season may be winding down, but there is still plenty of hatchling activity on Sanibel!

SCCF documented one new nest over the past week, along with exciting hatch activity and nest inventories. So far this season, Sanibel’s nests have sent an incredible 24,867 hatchlings to sea, including 511 green turtle hatchlings.

Coyotes have depredated 356 nests, reminding us how many challenges these tiny turtles face before reaching the water. Guests can help by keeping the beach dark, clean, and free of obstacles at night.

Please turn off lights, remove beach items, and fill in holes before leaving the beach.

Sea turtle nesting activities are conducted under SCCF Marine Turtle Permit #047.

The Sanibel keychain library has been restocked!
There are new keychains, bracelets, seashell candles, and several Sanibel nail polish kits that have nail polish and sweet little treasures inside!

Visit at 975 Rabbit Rd. and please bring a trinket or a keychain to swap!
