Do you like old race cars and big misfires? Well, do I have a video for you! onboard from a couple weeks back at Velocity Invitational in my client Jim Storer’s Lotus 23B. It’s a lovely car and a privilege to drive, but a fuel pickup problem made for a frustrating misfire in right handers. This meant racing for the win was out of the question, but a fun fight for 3rd is a decent consolation prize!

We went testing at Laguna Seca on Sunday and shook down a car on four year old used tires, lol. The car had a little miss and a push off the corner, but still was good for a few 1:37’s on hockey pucks. New tires should be pretty sporty in August!

Project update! Here's a big old pile of photos showing our latest Porsche 911 restoration. Believe it or not, all these photos are the same car! We are restoring it to the Red Roof Inns D-Prod/GT3 spec this time around, as we don't want to cut off the roof again right now, this poor car has been through a lot already. Built by Don Istook in 1980, he won a regional SCCA title with it in 1981, got 3rd at the Runoffs in DP, then traded Dale Fazekas for his 924 SSA car. Dale and his buddy Dave Schafer put a roof on it, then gave it to David Finch of Raetech fame to make it handle. He tubed the front end, reworked the pickup points, and Dale ran it for 5 more years in GT3 once D-Prod went away. Years later, it was turned into a fake RSR and raced for about a decade like that before we got our hands on it.
