"FANTASTIC! If you care about your car—especially if you drive a Miata—this is the shop you want. The expertise here is top-tier. He did a thorough, comprehensive check over the entire car and caught several nuanced issues that most mechanics would completely miss.

The car drives like an absolute dream now. Beyond the incredible technical skill, he is honest, exceptionally smart, and charges very fair, reasonable.." says Margaret on Google

"We brought a Subaru Outback for a pre-purchase inspection to Hartzel Automotive. What a wonderful team of good hearted professionals. Alex did a thorough job with the inspection and identified three issues. Happily, the seller credited us most of the cost and we, of course, turned to Hartzel's to fix the biggest of the three. What a wonderful experience! Thank you, Barry and team!" says Annette on Google

"TLDR: Straight up, if you have a Subaru or Mazda, this is the hands down best Mechanic/Automotive Shop to go to.

I had been taking my Subaru to the dealership (cypress) for service recalls and small services and had been met with bills in the thousands, every time. I went and got an estimate from a AAA recommended shop close to downtown Monterey for a clutch kit replacement and had an estimate of almost $3k, and had.." says Andrew on Google
