S13 FIXED LIGHT Update:

Both left and right FRP housing samples are completed from their molds. Right side turned out well - The left side also turned out as I hoped... however the gelcoat on the left did not want to play nicely... 😅. So just disregard the "alligatoring" marks seen all over that housing (quite ugly)🤦🏻. I should have sprayed the gel but I brushed it- which is known for causing issues.

Anyway- other than that, both housings fit well on my 240sx. Also with the clear lenses. Mounting points line up correctly. I may try a nut-sert for the upper bracket instead of its current nut + bolt setup. A bit of a snug fit against the pignose bumper on the outer corners. This bumper in particular pulls inwards on both corners slightly though in relation to the fenders.

I will fit these again this weekend on my other 240sx to compare the fitment from both cars. But so far they seem great, aside from the gelcoat reaction on the left side.

3 of the 5 mold sections RHS S13 FIXED HEADLIGHT taped together to get an idea of the finished product. I still need to properly bond all 5 together after the holidays.

Yes, the bottom section has some air pockets/wrinkles, I had rushed a bit when laminating this section. 😅 You can ignore those errors!

But overall the sections align well and also the clear covers fit well onto the FRP housings. Next I need to open the LHS holds and prep them for making the first sample as well.

I am pleased to say that production is finally starting on the Civic FC/FK 10th gen garnish!! Preorders will start early next year for a discounted rate.

Once the first production sample arrives, I will immediately test fit it and share photos :) !

The RHS molds for the S13 FIXED LIGHT housing are currently being tested for production. LHS molds need to be opened and plug removed.

Due to my time constraint of traveling for the holidays, I was not able to bond these sections together just yet, but plan to do so in January. I pulled some laminated sections from their molds to check release, then trimmed and returned to their molds. Normally i'd trim half cured in the mold but this was just a test. Overall looking good!

There is a separate upper bracket mold to make a adjustable upper bracket that bolts to the housing, which still needs to be laminated.

As the first sample FRP S13 FIXED headlight housings will be laminated by myself in December, here are some renderings showing some visuals of a suggested finished look. Of course there are many different ways these can be painted/ clear lenses colored etc.

I will make some night renderings with the lights on as well to see how the projectors look with the shrouds w/ 2 lights versus 4 lights turned on.

This product will be by far my most complex, but I hope all my hard work going into this has paid off!
