Filthy Addictions Offroad

Filthy Addictions Offroad Custom Fabircated Off Road Parts We're just a small group of guys that like to wheel XJ's. Well, why keep these parts to ourselves? We stand by our products 100%.

We wheel all types of terrain from easy 2wd scenic trails, to hard rock strewn canyons. After being disappointed by many other companies parts, we decided to start making our own. After proving over and over again to ourselves that our parts are strong and built tough, we decided to offer them to you as well. We believe that wheeling trips need to be spent wheeling, not fixing. We don't ever want

you to be stranded on the trail because of one of our parts so, we hand inspect every piece that leaves our shop. If we wouldn't be comfortable putting it on our personal rigs, then it doesn't leave the shop. Here at the FAO shop, we believe in ONE thing, OVERKILL! If its not built to handle ANYTHING you can throw at it, then we don't build it. Plain and simple.

Handles a quick little project over the weekend. Passenger hinge on a first gen Cummins seat. I'm told this hinge isn't something you can find very easily, seats out of a rusted doner vehicle. I was able to salvage the seat side, had to make the floor side from scratch. Making the seat safe and reliable now!

On yesterday's adventure of making xj's great again. The big hole has been filled! Building inner wheel well tubs isn't as easy as it looks, Well I guess it could be if you didn't care what it looked like... The object was "easy" make sure the tire clears and seal it 100% so sand hollow doesn't entire the cab. After installing the new ballistic fab rear differential cover, I was able to stretch the rear to 110" wheelbase with a factory fuel tank and steering gear box in the oem location.

Well.... we have a large hole and a tower that's about to call itself a new home. Waiting on a new differential cover to know exact axle location. I wanna match the angle of the front coil overs to the rear at ride hight.

Anyone see the issue in the first picture? First picture is attempting to get to full lock passenger. The second picture is full lock passenger. People often ask "whys is cost so much" Simple answer, it takes time to do it correctly. Sometimes that's tacking a bracket and cycling the suspension, finding that something hits. Cut bracket off move/shorten bracket till it clears. All this is time in the custom side of things. I've been finding questionable things done to this build previously that I am unraveling as I go. I take pride in my work and want to pass along a build that I would want to wheel and show off. At the end of the day, that's all we have.

Making big things fit in small places. Pushed the axle forward to clear the cage at full lock. Knowing the front corner marker had to be trimmed, but we'll see how much is left 😆 Making sure the tire doesn't wanna make love to anything fragile or sharp. Tucking a 40 does look good though 😍

Devils in the details. Keeping the oem fuel tank, pushing it back 3" pushing the tank skid back 1.25" then trimming the skid to box it back in. Getting the rear axle back as far as possible with all oem parts/hardware. Still more to come.

Anyone wanna see a bad day.... large piece of metal landed on my plasma lead. I tried to kick it out of the way (maybe not smart) thought I just clipped the wire. Okay that sucks, can be repaired. Open it up and see a hole in the airline tube 😪

What do they say? Don't wear white after Labor Day? No wait, old and busted-new hotness. I think that's it 🤷🏻‍♀️ getting an upgrade to lock that drivetrain down! Can't trust in your rig when you have broken/worn out parts. When you gotta replace, always upgrade!

Cut two large holes in the back of an xj to fit these towers in. Lots of little trimming to make sure the fit was tight enough to weld/seal the wheel wells back up. The towers were pre welded, I added the cross brace/gusset. Taking that little extra time makes a better fitment at the end.
