Today, December 1, marks our 33 years in business as Rudy's Automotive.
On December 1, 1992, Becky and I took a leap of faith and started Rudy's Automotive.
The journey began at Lackey's Conoco, where we rented the service bays from Floyd and Bobby Lackey. Then, in April of 1994, we moved to the former Precision Tune location on Hwy 123, where we stayed for 18 years before moving to our current location on the southbound interstate 35 service road.
On March 1, 2017,
We took another leap of faith and started Spin Enterprises LLC, an event planning and concessions business. This business has continued to grow, and we are slowly taking steps to make this our primary business.
In March 2019, we decided to become a U-Haul dealer. While we were still repairing cars in 2019, then covid hit. The repairs slowed down due to people staying home due to the pandemic. However, the U-Haul business never slowed down, and it became our primary source of income.
We have become one of the top dealers in our 744 marketing company. We have received the Top 100 award numerous times, awarded to less than 2% of U-Haul dealerships nationwide. We have built a large client base of repeat U-Haul customers and enjoy meeting people moving in and out of our area.
Since 2020 we have started transitioning to U-Haul only, and we are at the point where we are no longer repairing vehicles for our customers anymore.
Though Rudy misses turning wrenches, U-Haul has become our primary business during the day, allowing us the flexibility of running our other business, Spin Enterprises LLC.
We started Rudy's Automotive in our early 20's, and now we are in our 50's. Little did we know that this journey would change our lives. These past 33 years have blessed us with incredible customers who have become friends.
We have repaired several generations of customers' vehicles. We have watched your children grow up, laid many to rest, and experienced the good and the bad times together, all while building an extended family.
It's almost time to play the George Strait song "The Cowboy Rides Away" when it's time for Rudy's Automotive to come to an end. However, we are still here for your U-Haul needs for the time being. Only God knows what the future holds for us.
Your patronage has allowed us to raise our family and serve our community and parish. Your friendship will be the greatest blessing we could ever receive, and we are eternally grateful.
May you be blessed this holiday season.
With Love & Gratitude,
Rebecca Espinoza and Rudy Espinoza Jr
