We offer fully outfitted, vintage bus excursions to beautiful destinations across California. Cream Puff’s rental fees support the continued restoration of this and other vintage buses, including the future planned installation of solar panels and remodeled interiors. This vehicle is no longer in production and fast becoming a collectable. Be apart of keeping this beautiful gem alive and cruising.
The Bus:
Cream Puff is a 1979 stick shift VW Westfalia Camper, also referred to as the T2. The bus seats four people. The back seat converts to a full bed. The top pops up to reveal standing room in front of the kitchenette and another bed. The bus contains a small kitchenette with a sink and propane stove. There is a water tank and propane tank. The bus can also be hooked up to campsite electrical and water outlets. The passenger seat swivels to face the back seat creating a seating area. The bus is expertly and regularly maintained, including safety checks, with the renowned BusLabs of Oakland, CA. Journeys:
We provide expert help planning your excursion. Our favorites include a 4 day hiking excursion in the RedWood forests of Big Basin, or a 7 day surf adventure down the coast of the bay area. There are some restrictions on where Cream Puff can travel due to incremental weather including snow and hot temperatures that can damage the air-cooled engine. Slower top speeds mean planning travel time accordingly. Also driving an unfamiliar vehicle means that drivers often need to take rest stops along the journey. We recommend and typically plan trips that involve driving-segments of no more than 3 hours. This vehicle is a camper and does not contain a bathroom or shower, but luckily our beautiful state parks have great facilities at nearly every park. Features:
