It is with great sadness that we report that the TIE Fighter has had its last flight and we have been forced into early retirement.

Two of our squad members pulling the art car were hit by a drunk driver at over 100mph on Friday night, resulting in the fully loaded truck with our gear rolling multiple times and landing on its roof, and the trailer being completely destroyed and thrown even further down the freeway, shutting down all four lanes of I-80W.

The Force was strong with squad and they walked away with minimal bodily harm considering the excessive speed they were directly impacted with and the severity of the accident. We are extremely grateful that the art car most likely saved their lives, and while we grieve the loss of our 11 years of hard work and love, we are thankful for TIE Fighter's last act of service for squad.

We are reaching out to the community in hopes that we brought you some joy or memories over the past decade that you would like to share with us, photographic or stories-- we will accept it all with gratitude. Art cars are not easy on the crew, especially ones that are entirely self-funded, but the love we received back made all the hard work worth it. You build an art car as friends, and it built us into a family.

This is the way.

RIP TIE Fighter, 2013-2024

Hello friends of Danny Huss,

If you're coming to the burn we have scheduled an art car family ride out in honor of the instigator who brought us all together.

We would love it if you would all join us as part of the community - either ride out with The Janky Barge (leaving 6:30pm from 3:15 and D), or the TIE Fighter Art Car (coming from 9:45 and B, camp is the Parlour Room) or meet us at the man at 7pm on Tuesday night. We'll ride out to the temple together, sunset is at 7:35pm, where we'll enjoy a giant group hug and share our gratitude for our community and the man that helped start a movement of friends, family and shenanigans.

Please help share the confirmed playa rumor, and hope to see you there!
