Summary of Position:
Wash attendants are responsible for performing the daily operational activites of running San Diego's largest truck wash facility. Attendants are to ensure consistent quality and customer service by ensuring that all trucks are left clean, dry and shiny.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Open daily at 7:00 am and close at 5:00 pm.
• Always maintain a clean workspace, this includes the truck wash, locker area and restroom.
• Have a strong understanding of different wash services and the associated pricing.
• Guide trucks into the wash area with a focused, pleasant, and competent demeanor
• Perform visual inspections of the condition of each vehicle prior to sending it through the wash bay.
• Be proficient with all policies and procedures and able to perform them on a daily basis as needed.
• Constant walking; be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).
• Involves frequent stretching and bending, lifting over 35 lbs at a time, climbing into trailer boxes and periodically climbing up and down a 7’ tall ladder
• Continual use of manual dexterity and bodily coordination to perform an array of tasks.
• Wash the exterior of trucks using various cleaning specific solutions depending on the service requested by the client.
• Perform visual inspections on all existing equipment to ensure all machines and chemicals are functioning properly.
• Perform regularly scheduled maintenance on all equipment to ensure it is kept in proper working order.
• Keep the entire property spotlessly clean and ensure everything is kept in the proper place and organized
• Keep hoses hung properly, and trash cans emptied.
• Check continuously water and chemicals inventory.
• Be polite and available to address all customer concerns and handle them in a professional manner that is satisfactory to both the customer and to the truck wash.
• Always clean Wash bay concrete floor and clarifiers before closing your department. Empty trash container.
• Greet all customers walking in, as well as in front the registers.
• Develop initiative.
