Celebrating Native American heritage while safeguarding the future—explore how the 2025 OTS Annual Report features the "Honoring Our Ancestors Protecting Our Future" Traffic Safety Training for Native American Youth project offered through UCSD TREDS in collaboration with our local Native American community. Great conversations, important connections, and meaningful safety discussions at the SE CMV Safety Summit!

Our TREDS team hosted an exhibit table, connecting with attendees about our CMV Education Programs and ways we can support safer commercial vehicle operations through accessible, practical training.

We were also honored to have Renée Dell'Acqua represent TREDS as a panelist for “Combating Human Trafficking Through Public-Private Partnerships,” joining leaders from across the transportation, law enforcement, and advocacy sectors to explore how collaboration, training, and innovation can help prevent and disrupt human trafficking along America’s roadways.

Renee highlighted the Human Trafficking Screening Tool for Law Enforcement, developed by TREDS in partnership with TAT (formerly Truckers Against Trafficking), as an innovative technology designed to support law enforcement in identifying potential human trafficking situations. It’s Operation Safe Driver Week, and here's something every driver should know: You can be driving under the posted speed limit and still be speeding.

The Michigan State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division explains Violation of Basic Speed Law (VBSL) - driving too fast for current roadway conditions. Rain, heavy traffic, fog, or construction can all require slowing down, even when you're below the posted limit.

We are excited to announce the launch of Safe Haul, a free online training designed to help drivers stay current on U.S. CMV regulations and support safe driving practices.

Developed by UC San Diego TREDS with funding from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, the self-paced course includes practical, interactive training on topics such as commercial licensing, hours of service, fatigue, speeding, distracted driving, and more.
