Livin' the 86 life is basically the passion one has for their Corolla GTS/Levin/Trueno/AE86/Hachi Roku or any other names this car is known as. No matter how much other people say its a POS or how much blood, sweat, and tears (as well as countless dollars) you put into this car...you wouldn't have it any other way cause it was all worth it in the end.

Working on getting a bunch of suspension components for the Vertex AE86 hatch. This just came in from 🇯🇵.

Brand new set of CUSCO Japan Official AE86 Adjustable Pillow Ball Tension Rods. These should pair nicely with the other suspension goodies such as my discontinued Largus sway bars.

Would you run these Cusco AE86 Adjustable Pillow Ball Tension Rods?

| A local AE86 owner reached out asking for a replacement rear sway-bar mount but I did not have any available but was able to source this aftermarket piece from Japan.

Some info from the designer/seller:

“A fellow AE86 owner told me that the stabilizer bar’s effectiveness decreased after lowering his car’s ride height by more than 3cm, and requested that I create a way to adjust the stabilizer’s mounting position. Therefore, I redesigned and custom-made a new stabilizer bar from scratch. It’s about 4cm shorter than the original length, but the length can be adjusted by +2cm. This is for those who have lowered their car’s ride height by more than 3cm.

For this part, the owner requested increased rigidity, so I used special duralumin A2024 forged material for the bracket. The pillow ball joints are made by the Japanese manufacturer Misumi. The collars are custom-made using high-strength SUS304 stainless steel. The mounting collars for the stabilizer are made of A2017 duralumin with a silver anodized finish. These are manufactured by an external company.”

If you arent aware, this rear strut tower bar installs without any beed to drill into the chassis like you must do with the Cusco rear strut tower bars which makes this desirable for many folks who do not want to drill into their car.
