Rob Sjostedt rebuilt a damaged Starduster Too Biplane and enjoys continued refinement of the classic airplane. N114RB has a Continental IO-470F Engine and Stardusters can be nose heavy with big engines. When he discovered the Monkworkz generator, he saw the opportunity to simplify and remove weight. Removing the vintage Delco-Remy Generator and its associated brackets, belt and Voltage Regulator not only simplified the engine compartment but took 13 pounds out of the nose. The Monkworkz generator provides the same amps at a fraction of the weight and no belt that occasionally needs tensioning. Perfect for a Sport Plane.

Monkworkz went to today and finished out the installation of two modern generators on the Haviland DH.88 for a weight savings of ~95 lbs. Ground run was a success. It’s good for another hundred years of Flight!
